"Legal protection of digital content - between monetisation and openness of data"
The legal regulation of digital content as a new subject of regulation includes in particular: the challenges and risks of the Digital Single Market, copyright protection of digital content, regulation of the Directive on the making available of digital content, issues related to digital cultural heritage. It is important, how far does the authorization of digital service providers to interfere with this data, also generated by the user of the network from the resources available there, extend.
Filip Radoniewicz, PhD, Assistant Professor of the War Studies University:
"Blocking illegal content in the Internet";
Every year, the amount of content published on the Internet increases. While some publish them, others try to fight them. Blocking consists in preventing access to the content – it is still on the Internet, but a block is placed between it and the recipient. This can be done thanks to the filtering mechanism, i.e. catching pages containing keywords or being blacklisted. Filtering and blocking, which prevent access to certain content, are therefore types of censorship. Filtering and blocking, same like censorship, can be useful as well as harmful.
Monika Nowikowska, PhD, assistant professor of the War Studies University:
"Fake news - disinformation in new media"
The development of modern technologies and the digital environment makes it possible to obtain information, access to many sources of knowledge and share it on an unprecedented scale. Along with the speed of the spread of information, there was the possibility of manipulating the message, distorting the content and even creating false messages.
