Workshop

Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence – Workshop

At the end of the three-year period, a workshop will be organised in order to present the outcome of our research to policymakers, judges and attorneys.

The workshop will consist of two parts. First, each member of the research team will present the outcomes of his selected research topic. This will be followed by a discussion: guests may make comments on the presentations that may stimulate a debate on the research outcomes.

For the workshop, we will invite public servants from ministries, attorneys and scholars working in the field of EU Law and/or Private International Law. The workshop will be also open for students.

The impact of the workshop will be twofold. First, the workshop will provide an opportunity to disseminate the research outcomes directly among professionals and academics. The guests will include the representatives of ministries, law firms and academic institutions. Each member of the research team will hold a presentation on his results. Secondly, each member of the research team may get a feedback on the research, since all guests will be invited to comment the presentations of the members research team.

The workshop could interconnect academic discourse and practice. We hope that the presentation of the results of the research and the debate will raise awareness to the application of the Private International Law rules of the EU and inspire practitioners to pay more attention to importance of these legal sources in practice.

In the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet module “Perspectives of Unification of Private International Law in the European Union”, the Department of Private International Law and European Economic Law organises a workshop on 15 June 2018.
