Training in French
French and Hungarian Maîtrise of Law (Master 1) – Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas

The French and European Law programme for Hungarian law students was launched at the Faculty in the spring semester of 2002 and have been running successfully ever since. It was established under a cooperation agreement between Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) and the ELTE Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.
The programme spans four semesters, with each semester comprising 20 hours of lectures and 8 hours of seminars delivered in French.
In 2006, the programme was restructured and has since been offered under the title Maîtrise (Master 1) en Droit, mention « Droit comparé / Droit hongrois » (French and Hungarian Maîtrise of Law – Master 1).
Upon successful completion of the programme, participants are awarded the Master 1 diploma of the University Paris-Panthéon-Assas, a degree recognised in both France and Hungary. The French degree is conferred upon holders of a Hungarian Juris Doctor (JD) diploma.
To support students enrolled in the programme, the Faculty Library has expanded its collection of French legal literature and documentation. These acquisitions were made possible through the financial support of the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Hungary.

Training in German
German and European Law – LL.M. Programme with Georg-August-Universität Göttingen

The German and European Law programme for Hungarian law students was launched at the Faculty in the autumn semester of 2002 and since then it has also operated successfully. It was established under a cooperation agreement between Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the ELTE Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.
The programme consists of two semesters. Each semester includes 36 hours of lectures and consultations conducted in German by academic staff from the University of Göttingen.
Since the 2006/2007 academic year, the cooperation between the two institutions has been expanded. Students who successfully complete the German-language legal programme at ELTE and obtain their Hungarian Juris Doctor (JD) degree are eligible to continue their studies at the University of Göttingen for one additional semester. Upon successful completion of the programme and the defence of their master's thesis, they are awarded the LL.M. degree of Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
To support the programme, the Faculty Library has enriched its collection with German legal literature and documentation through generous donations from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
