It is now widely believed that liberalism, long the dominant ideology of modernity, is in crisis. The crisis of liberalism is most evident in the challenges to liberal ideas from both sides of the political spectrum, with the rise of progressive identity politics on the left, and 'post-liberal' or 'national conservative' tendencies on the right. Although they serve different social and political goals, both sides agree on rejecting the individualist foundations of classical liberalism and the ideal of a neutral and limited state power. The aim of the research is to examine and understand the above-mentioned phenomena, to explore the causes and internal contexts of the crisis, including reflection on the internal tensions of the liberal tradition and alternative possibilities for its reconstruction.
