My research examines environmental harm and its social control within the frameworks of critical and green criminology, with particular emphasis on community resistance and the control and suppression of such resistance. It focuses on the dynamics of power and resistance, as well as the formal and informal mechanisms of social control through which these dynamics unfold. Particular attention is given to global market processes and the economic and political interests that contribute to the production and reproduction of environmental harm and shape the scope for resistance.
